Potassium polyacrylate, a potassium salt of polyacrylic acid, is a type of super-absorbent polymer, with immense water absorption and water holding capacity. It is basically a group of polymeric chains, that are connected together chemically to become a water-insoluble, a net-like matrix that tenderly attracts and holds water molecules.

Potassium polyacrylate increases moisture availability and nutrition to plants. Alongside, it is used as a water retaining agent to avoid soil salinization in agriculture. It can absorb water up to hundreds times of its own weight and turn to water gel.

While faced with water shortages, it is enough to add potassium polyacrylate into the soil and the plants themselves will take as much water as they need and save rest for later. As per its outward form, potassium polyacrylate can be recognized similar to the detergent, sugar or salt.

Copper(II) oxide or cupric oxide is the inorganic compound with the formula CuO. A black solid, it is one of the two stable oxides of copper, the other being Cu₂O or cuprous oxide.

Uses:

As a significant product of copper mining, copper(II) oxide is the starting point for the production of other copper salts. For example, many wood preservatives are produced from copper oxide.

Cupric oxide is used as a pigment in ceramics to produce blue, red, and green, and sometimes gray, pink, or black glazes.

It is also incorrectly used as a dietary supplement in animal feed. Due to low bioactivity, negligible copper is absorbed.

It is also used when welding with copper alloys.
